Legal Assistant (Litigation)

Location: Bethesda, MD (On-Site)

Compensation: $60,000–$90,000 (depending on years of experience) + full benefits

About the Opportunity: A well-established, mid-sized law firm in the Bethesda area is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its Litigation practice. This is a growth hire due to increased workflow and offers strong exposure to substantive litigation matters in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for someone who is bright, organized, and eager to learn, and who is comfortable balancing hands-on litigation support with core administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and court filings (state and federal, including e-filing)
• Assist with discovery, document management, and trial/hearing preparation
• Manage calendars, deadlines, and scheduling (depositions, hearings, client meetings)
• Draft routine correspondence with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
• Maintain and organize case files (electronic and hard copy)
• Support attorneys with exhibit prep, binders, and filings
• Handle administrative tasks including copying, scanning, mailing, and file maintenance

Qualifications

• Prior law firm experience in litigation is required
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Willingness to assist with both substantive and administrative work
