Utah Valley University is seeking a Family Science Lecturer who is passionate about teaching and student success. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver engaging, meaningful coursework within the Social & Behavioral Sciences Department, using a variety of instructional methods, including discussion, demonstrations, and experiential learning. The lecturer will play an active role in supporting student growth through clear, measurable objectives, thoughtful evaluation, and a strong, student-centered approach. With regular interaction both in and out of the classroom, this position is ideal for someone who values connection, practical learning, and helping students apply family science concepts in real-world contexts.
  • Teaches, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in a classroom setting or online via demonstrations, discussion, experiential learning activities, and visual aids.
  • Provides evaluation of learning through written and performance tests. Holds regular office hours and maintains a student-oriented approach to education. Plans and prepares coursework to be taught.
  • Attends meetings as required. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a master’s degree in a related field to the coursework being taught (Family Science/Studies, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, Sociology, Consumer Sciences, Human Development, etc.). Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content.
