Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool for Academic Year 2025 - 2026. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding. Lecturers may be assigned courses during the day, evening, and/or via distance learning. Lecturers are required to reside in Hawaii.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Bachelor’s of Accounting program covers a variety of courses such as: Business Administration (including Business Law), Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Tax, Governmental Accounting, etc.

1. Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
2. Conduct lectures: online, in the classroom, or in the field for each course as scheduled/assigned.
3. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course as scheduled/assigned.
4. Lecturers are required to provide student evaluation report upon receipt to the Department Chair and the Dean/Director with a 50% or higher response rate.
5. Other related tasks and/or duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Possession of a Master's degree in Accounting, a related discipline or current Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent combination of education & /or experience (e.g. – Bachelor’s degree with relevant certifications or a minimum of four years of experience in the appropriate subject area)

Desirable Qualifications

1. Demonstrated high-quality instruction and teaching effectiveness at the college level.
2. Recent evidence of published materials related to the field of expertise.
3. Evidence of prior success in teaching at University of Hawai?i at Hilo.
