The role offers significant growth potential within a multi-year utility program, with opportunities for upward mobility into larger projects and more advanced positions for strong performers. The organization supports long-term career development through structured training, certification, and exposure to major infrastructure programs in a growing metro area. Employees benefit from a stable, ongoing inspection cycle that recurs over time, creating continued demand for skilled inspectors and opportunities to build a lasting career in the utility and field services sector.

Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with optional Saturday shifts available at the supervisor’s request and the contractor’s discretion. Tailboard meetings typically occur at warehouse locations in Hartford and New Haven before field deployment. A typical day involves reporting to the job site, receiving a list of addresses and a route via a handheld tablet, and working independently in the field for the remainder of the day. The role requires working outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions, frequent walking over several miles, and climbing stairs and ladders. The company provides necessary tools and equipment, including a simple tool set, flashlight, gas detector, field binder, ID badges, tool belt, handheld tablet, and flame-resistant shirts and pants, safety vest, and hard hat. The training program includes an initial orientation and OSHA-related training, followed by classroom instruction with a structured schedule, homework, practice exams, and certification tests with multiple attempts.
