Lead Respiratory Therapist NICU Peds

The NICU/Pediatric Respiratory Team Leader functions independently within their scope of practice. Acts as an immediate supervisor to NICU/Peds respiratory therapists on both shifts, including the charge therapists. Supervises departmental clinical activities, including performance improvement, and performs an administrative role in department functions. Works closely with the manager/director regarding staffing, operations and departmental issues. Subjected to irregular hours and pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. May be required to work weekends and holidays. Requires rational judgment and clinical thinking. Creates an environment and culture that enables Respiratory Care Services to fulfill the mission of the facility and meet or exceed its goals. May act as interim manager during absence of department manager or director.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Associate Degree
• (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
