UPMC is looking to hire a Full-Time, Lead Neurodiagnostic Technician at Harrisburg.
Schedule: 7:00am-3:30pm
This position requires on-call, holiday and weekend rotations.
Manager will discuss further during interview.
Travel will be required 75% during training period and 50% after training period to other hospitals in Central PA.
This position travels to all 7 hospitals within the Central PA region and provides hands on care to adults and pediatric patients in ICU, ER, traditional hospital units and outpatient offices.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee the ordering of supplies, according to established guidelines and in accordance with current budget.
- Oversee scheduling of patients to ensure proper utilization of time and patient beds.
- Maintain, order, and clean all monitoring supplies for patients.
- Participate in and coordinates the EEG or EMG Training Program.
- Devise and implement a monthly technical staff schedule for all shifts which considers PTO/comp days/patient acuity and ancillary testing
- Provide for biweekly payroll for all technical, nursing and support staff.
- Attend and participate in administrative meetings as required.
- Work closely with and provides coverage for peer Lead EEG or EMG Technologist of appropriate department, when needed.
- Ensure patient safety through ensuring that junior staff EEG techs are following patient identification guidelines.
- Coordinate care, flow and prioritization of EEG (EMG) exams to be completed.
- Work closely and communicate with physicians and mid-level providers.
- Oversee and review the work of the EEG or EMG technical staff.
- Ensure that daily billing and coding procedures meet departmental and hospital requirements
- Assist in the annual review of the EEG or EMG technical staff.
- Assist in establishing and suggests changes for departmental policy/procedures.
- Perform all of the duties of an EEG or EMG Technologist III.
- Ensure that junior staff techs follow established seizure safety and first aide guidelines in the event of a clinic seizure.
- Ensure that EEG or EMG digital data is maintained and permanently archived, per established departmental procedure.
- Maintain, or arrange for maintenance of all EEG or EMG equipment. Ensure that equipment is kept clean and in proper working order.
- Prefer completion of Associate's degree in physical or biological sciences.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in EEG or EMG and registered by one of the Neurodiagnostic credentialing societies.
- Need organizational and leadership ability to plan, and oversee the operations of a busy EEG or EMG or EMG Lab.
- Need computer and networking skills to troubleshoot manage and maintain an advanced EEG digital network.
- Able to adapt technical procedures and equipment to achieve desired results.
- Able to assess and train EEG or EMG Technical staff in new or changing technology.
- Need proficiency in computer skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (R.EEG.T)
- OR American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (R.NCS.T)
- OR American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (CNCT)
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists
- OR Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT)
- OR Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
