Description
Position Summary
The Lead Monitor functions as the on-site shift supervisor, responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and continuous operations during assigned shifts. This position directly supervises Monitors and ensures all PWS-required services are executed properly.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise Monitor staff during assigned shift
- Conduct shift change briefings and required overlap handoffs
- Ensure continuous monitoring of the facility
- Perform and document:
- Routine safety walkthroughs (every 30 minutes)
- Resident wellness checks
- Respond to and manage:
- Emergencies (medical, fire, police)
- Behavioral incidents
- Conflict situations
- Ensure proper documentation of:
- Incident Reports
- Daily logs
- Shift reports
- Coordinate with VA personnel and emergency responders
- Maintain control and accountability of:
- Keys
- Access points
- Restricted areas
- Ensure Monitors are:
- Performing duties
- Following procedures
- Maintaining compliance
- Assist with:
- Intake and discharge activities
- Resident support needs
- Report issues or deficiencies to Program Director
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience
- Experience in:
- Security
- Shelter operations
- Social services
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability
- Crisis management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to manage multiple staff and tasks simultaneously
