Job Description:

  • Lead the build of small automotive sub-assemblies.
  • Fits and assembles components to construct, rebuild, and repair sub-assemblies by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the build of small automotive sub-assemblies.
  • Lead crews of 10+
  • Analyzes assembly blueprint and specifications manual and plans machine building operations.
  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints.
  • Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly.
  • Aligns components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together.
  • Removes high spots, and smooths surfaces.
  • Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts.
  • Tests operation of assembly by hand.
  • Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
  • Build small sub-assemblies and mounting to bases.
  • Welding small parts for the sub-assemblies.
  • Identifying parts on prints for build purposes.
  • De-burring, stamping, and painting of sub-assemblies.
  • Building guarding around projects.
  • Machining (drilling, tapping, lathe work, Bridgeport, etc)
  • Provide cost to complete estimates bi-weekly.
  • Update resource charts daily.
  • Log rework at the time of the rework.
  • Participate in "Go fast” and Kaizen events.
  • Keep work areas clean, maintain 5S and safety.
  • Other duties and projects may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED);
  • Experience leading a crew of 10+ in the past and ordered materials
  • Minimum of Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics and experience in machine tool.
  • General experience in assembly prints.
  • General knowledge in machining; Blue Print Reading; Basic MIG Welding.
  • General knowledge with regards to general build practices; Understanding of build specifications (i.e., threading, dowel length, etc.).
  • Knowledge of overhead cranes, Hi-lo, Pallet Jack and other related equipment required to perform the job function.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions in the Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Active Driver's License
