The  Technology team within Commercial Lending & Banking Technology is seeking a Java Software Engineer that will focus on the Commercial Lending and Banking Transformation (CLBT) and Credit Bridge Asset Management (CBAM) effort. The purpose of this CBAM effort is to build new capabilities covering servicing, asset management and portfolio review process. This is part of an overall strategy to create an integrated end-to-end credit platform in Wholesale. 

The selected candidate will play a critical role in  displaying expertise in multiple identified areas and for developing standards and enterprise-wide best practices for engineering complex, large scale technology solutions to address highly complex and cross-organizational issues. 

The candidate's responsibilities include:

  • Design, code,test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of other technology engineering disciplines and collaborating with other key experts to ensure we are making the right technology choices for Wells Fargo. 
  • Translates advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical
  • engineering solutions. 
  • Be an expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures to ensure that they can be properly designed and implemented through sound
  • engineering practices. 
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization. 
  • Provides expert counsel to senior technology leadership and advises and mentors others with the goal of knowledge transfer. 
  • Represents Wells Fargo to external industry groups, influencing industry standards. 

Responsibilities:
Hands on development & expertise in the following:

  • Java
  • Object Oriented Design and Modeling 
  • Cloud Engineering
  • Spring Frameworks
  • Webservices (Soap & REST)
  • ORM frameworks like Hibernate
  • Database modeling 
  • Oracle database and PL/SQL
  • Build tools like Gradle or Maven
  • Front-end using SPA frameworks like Angular, ReactJS.
  • Application Monitoring tools using AppDynamics , Splunk, JConsole.
  • Enterprise Pipeline Tools like UDeploy, GIT, SONAR, Fortify, Blackduck.

Other duties will include:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to determine system design, potential issues, and, impact analysis for each project
  • Design, code,test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices.. 
  • Leads projects, allocates and manages resources and manages the work of less experienced developer
  • Provide individual and project support for complex projects or applications, adhere to project timelines and technical deliverables within different client environments Provide expertise about standard practices on coding standards
  • Provide support for highly complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale SOR applications 
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for the developed applications
  • Review Requirements Documents and develop implementation strategies that preserve the availability, performance, integrity, stability, and scalability of systems 
  • Produce architecture design documents to effectively communicate the solution to the business and provide direction for the development teams and infrastructure partners
  • Work with business and technology partners to prevent or solve difficult availability and performance problems
  • Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs
  • Research new innovative tools and technologies and lead proof-of-concepts to drive adoption

This position can be based at the Wells Fargo site location in Charlotte, NC.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
  • 7+ years of experience with Spring, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot
  • 7+ years of Hibernate experience
  • 1+ year of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
  • 1+ year of experience developing with Angular 7 and above application
  • 7+ years of PL/SQL experience
  • 2+ years of experience in planning and managing cloud application migration and large scale cloud platform deployment
  • 7+ years of experience in application & data architecture and solution design
  • 3+ years of Agile experience


Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of test driven application development
  • Knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Splunk experience
  • Experience with Kafka and PubSub patterns tools
  • 1+ year of experience with in-memory databases such as Redis, MongoDB, or Cassandra
  • 1+ year of Kubernetes experience
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Platforms in one or a combination of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Wholesale Customer Information System (WCIS) Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of AppDynamics
  • Knowledge and understanding of uDeploy
  • 3+ years of Maven experience, Gradle experience or combination of both


Other Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to lead and facilitate design sessions, code reviews, application builds and unit testing with development team
  • 1+ years of experience in developing and deploying solutions in Cloud Foundry or similar cloud platforms for PaaS.
  • 1+ years of JavaScript UI technology development with expertise in one or more of the following technologies – JQuery, NodeJS, Angular, •React JS, Redux framework, Express JS, Typescript, Javascript ES6, WebSockets.
  • 1+ years of experience in working with database systems with strong SQL, PL/SQL skills in Oracle.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence management on technical or business solutions. 
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying technical principles, practices, and procedures to multiple applications.
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment with large volumes of data, complex user interfaces, and multiple systems interfaces
  • Experience with methodologies including Design patterns, MVC architecture and object oriented design
  • Proven experience in developing application using Java, HTML 5, JavaScript and CSS3.
  • Proven software development experience including server-side Java, Spring, web-based application development.
  • Proven software development experience with secure coding concepts.
  • Proven experience with Continuous Integration and tools such as subversion, git, jenkins, and uDeploy
  • Experience with object oriented programming in Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience using Gradle
  • Experience with UI/Web framework such as GWT and Spring MVC
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Performance testing/monitoring / JVM tuning experience
  • Financial industry experience
