Purpose:
Provide leadership and subject‑matter expertise in financial analysis, projection modeling, and reporting by independently analyzing large, complex data sets to identify trends, explain variances, and deliver actionable insights. Lead the continuous enhancement of forecasting models, reporting processes, and visualization tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision‑making. Serve as a technical and professional mentor to Financial Analysts by overseeing day‑to‑day work, managing workflow, and providing guidance and training. Translate financial and clinical information—particularly Medicare pharmacy and Part D program mechanics—into clear, concise insights for internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership. Partner with operational teams to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and monitor outcomes while considering practical constraints and change management considerations.
Location: This position will be based out of Pittsburgh, PA at 600 Grant Street. This position will have the potential to work from home on a hybrid schedule which includes some days in office and some days at home per week.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and understand budget and trend variances and explain the variances in a concise way.
- Serve as a process expert and provide training and support to other Financial Analysts.
- Perform statistical analyses and then be able to explain this analysis to a non-technical audience of both internal and external customers and, at times, senior management.
- Pulls and synthesizes large, complex data sets from multiple sources to understand underlying trends, explain financial results, and support forward‑looking projections.
- Mentor and supervise day-to-day responsibilities of a minimum of two finance staff.
- Responsible for the distribution of work assignments for their team as well as workflow management within their team.
- Must use their knowledge and expert understanding of financial, clinical and other information generated by numerous sources to identify opportunities to improve financial performance and improve projection accuracy.
- Continuously enhances and maintains financial projection models, reporting processes, and data visualization tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision‑making.
- Serves as a subject‑matter expert in Medicare pharmacy, with a deep understanding of Medicare Part D, translating complex program mechanics into clear financial insights and projections.
- Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by manager (these deadlines and turnaround times will, at times, require the employee to work until the project is completed, meaning extended daily work hours, extended work weeks, or both).
