We are seeking an experienced Lead Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for large-scale multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, and commercial construction projects throughout Southwest Florida. This individual will be responsible for developing conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMP proposals, and managing the estimating process from project pursuit through award.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with ground-up multifamily and mixed-use developments, strong subcontractor relationships throughout Florida, and the ability to lead multiple pursuits simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all estimating and preconstruction activities for multifamily and mixed-use developments ranging from $20M to $250M+.
- Prepare conceptual estimates, schematic budgets, design development estimates, GMP proposals, and hard bid submissions.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses from conceptual drawings through construction documents.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, and consultants.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures while maintaining project quality and schedule objectives.
- Present estimates and project budgets to executive leadership, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Analyze labor, material, and market conditions to ensure accurate pricing and forecasting.
- Lead bid day activities and ensure complete scope coverage.
- Mentor and develop estimating team members.
- Support business development efforts and participate in client presentations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 8+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
- 3+ years in a Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator, or Preconstruction leadership role.
- Proven experience estimating: Multifamily developments, Mixed-use projects, Podium construction, Mid-rise and high-rise residential projects & Hospitality and commercial developments
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and project delivery processes.
- Experience preparing GMPs and negotiated proposals.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Destini, Sage Estimating, Procore, and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a large regional or ENR-ranked General Contractor.
- Strong subcontractor network throughout Florida.
- Experience leading multiple pursuits concurrently.
- Knowledge of Southwest Florida construction markets and pricing trends.
