About the role
Working with a well-established defense electronics company is seeking a seasoned Lead Electrical Engineer to join their Fuzing & Ordnance Systems team. You'll design ruggedized electronics for military fuzing and ordnance applications — working in a fast-paced environment across the full development lifecycle from requirements through qualification and manufacture. This is a high-impact role with direct customer interface and team leadership responsibility.
What you'll do
- Lead analog and digital circuit design for ruggedized ordnance electronics, including power supply design, sensor integration, and component selection
- Perform simulations and circuit tolerance analyses (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink); create and review design documentation using Altium or PADS
- Interface with customers and cross-functional teams; lead design reviews, ECOs, and failure investigations using structured root cause methods
- Mentor junior engineers, manage multiple programs simultaneously, and execute independently with minimal supervision
- Apply EMI, ESD, and DFM best practices; develop and execute test plans; troubleshoot using standard lab equipment
What we're looking for
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's + 9 years, Master's + 7 years, or 13 years of equivalent experience in electrical engineering
- Proven depth in analog/digital circuit design — op amps, differential amplifiers, filters, logic gates, power converters
- Experience with ESADs and Safety Review Boards is a strong plus
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance; currently active clearance preferred
- US citizenship required per program requirements; no visa sponsorship available
- Willingness to travel occasionally (5–10%)
