Design the Electrical Backbone of Next‑Generation Power Facilities

This is a long‑term, career‑building opportunity for an experienced electrical design professional with a passion for power generation infrastructure. You’ll play a lead role in delivering high‑quality electrical designs for some of the most complex and forward‑looking power generation projects in North America—supporting technologies that address today’s energy needs and tomorrow’s challenges.

Working in a highly collaborative environment, you’ll partner with engineers, designers, and project managers across disciplines to produce constructible, data‑driven 2D and 3D deliverables that directly support safe, reliable, and efficient power generation facilities.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Long‑term stability: Join a firm known for decades‑long client relationships, consistent project backlog, and enduring presence in the power industry
  • Industry leadership: Work on marquee power generation projects across utility, advanced generation, and critical infrastructure markets
  • Employee‑centered culture: A people‑first environment where tenure, technical expertise, and career growth are truly valued
  • Advanced digital design tools: Robust investment in Bentley MicroStation, BIM, 3D modeling, and data‑centric workflows
  • Technical leadership path: Opportunity to lead design efforts, mentor others, and influence standards and best practices
  • Complex, meaningful work: Facilities that demand precision—duct banks, grounding systems, lighting, cable routing, and equipment modeling at scale

What You’ll Do

As a Lead Electrical Engineering Technician, you’ll serve as a technical contributor and design leader within Advanced Power Generation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate electrical design efforts for power generation facilities
  • Develop and review 2D and 3D electrical deliverables, including:
    • Duct bank design
    • Cable tray and routing layouts
    • Grounding systems
    • Lighting systems (interior/exterior)
    • Electrical equipment modeling
  • Apply advanced electrical design knowledge to solve complex technical challenges
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations
  • Use Bentley MicroStation and related Bentley tools to create and maintain design documentation
  • Support lighting calculations and illumination modeling (AGI32 experience preferred)
  • Collaborate across disciplines and departments to align design intent with construction needs
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians and support staff
  • Support project execution with awareness of budgets, schedules, and client priorities

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology
  • 15+ years of relevant electrical design experience
  • Power generation industry experience (required)
  • Strong experience with:
    • Bentley MicroStation
    • 3D modeling of electrical equipment
    • Duct bank, cable tray, grounding, and lighting system design
  • Ability to work onsite at one of the listed office locations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Design‑related field
  • Experience with AGI32 for lighting analysis (preferred, not required)
  • Lead or supervisory experience guiding other designers or technicians

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is ideal for a seasoned electrical design professional who:

  • Wants to stay technical while stepping into a leadership role
  • Values long‑term employment over short‑term contract work
  • Enjoys collaborating on complex power generation projects
  • Takes pride in high‑quality, constructible design deliverables

If you’re ready to bring your power generation design expertise to a firm that invests in its people, tools, and future—and where your work directly supports critical energy infrastructure—this role offers a rare combination of technical challenge, stability, and professional respect.
