About the Role

In this role, you’ll lead hands‑on engineering efforts to design, build, and scale intelligent automation and AI solutions that reduce manual effort, improve quality, and enhance the day‑to‑day experience of engineering and support teams.

You’ll partner closely with teams across SAvE, product, architecture, ART (Toil Reduction), and IS&O to identify high‑value use cases, deliver measurable outcomes, and scale solutions responsibly. You’ll also play a key role in enabling others—coaching engineers, evolving platforms and patterns, and helping teams deliver solutions quickly and safely.

This role is well suited for someone who is curious, adaptable, and motivated to keep learning. Automation and AI technologies evolve rapidly, and you’ll be encouraged to continuously build new skills as tools, platforms, and practices advance.

The CTS SAvE Enablement team sits within Corporate Technology Services, offering opportunities to collaborate through community engagement, office hours, leadership forums, resiliency initiatives, and an engineering‑focused Community of Practice.

What You’ll Do:

  • Champion an automation‑first and efficiency‑driven mindset across CTS.
  • Partner with engineering, support, and business stakeholders to design and deliver impactful automation and AI solutions.
  • Build workflows, orchestration, rules, and AI capabilities that reduce toil and eliminate manual effort.
  • Collaborate with CTS and STS automation teams to share patterns, tools, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain frameworks, tooling, and instrumentation that improve reliability and release success.
  • Document automation standards and best practices and drive adoption across teams.
  • Coach and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement automation and AI solutions responsibly, with appropriate controls and risk awareness .

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior‑level engineering role focused on automation and/or AI solutions.
  • Strong software engineering skills, including experience building services and APIs using at least one modern programming language (such as Python, C#, or Java).
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practice.s
  • Practical experience with intelligent automation and at least one AI domain (such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or Generative AI), including evaluation or observability.
  • Experience applying Responsible AI principles and partnering with risk or governance teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to align stakeholders and manage priorities effectively.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions or leading enablement or training sessions to drive adoption and improve team performance.
  • Experience mentoring or leading engineers in automation and AI practices.
  • Demonstrated success delivering automation or AI solutions that resulted in measurable efficiency or quality improvements.
