ABM Electrical Power Services is seeking a highly experienced Lead Commissioning Technician to support operations and maintenance within a high-tech semiconductor / fab environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical electrical infrastructure, supporting advanced facility systems, and providing technical leadership to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
Pay: $60-$75 hourly.

The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise with power distribution, motors, VFDs, BMS systems, and preventive maintenance, along with the ability to contribute to system reliability improvements and complex troubleshooting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
· Advanced Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues across high and low voltage systems including switchgear, panels, breakers, motors, and control circuits.
· Motors, VFDs & Controls Expertise: Lead troubleshooting, testing, and optimization of motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs); support integration with process and facility systems.
· BMS & Control Systems Support: Support and troubleshoot building management systems (BMS), control wiring, sensors, and communication networks within a high-tech facility environment.
· Preventive Maintenance & Inspections: Execute and optimize PM programs and perform detailed inspections to ensure system reliability, compliance, and performance.
· System Operations Support: Maintain and support critical electrical infrastructure including transformers, UPS systems, backup power, and distribution systems.
· Installation & Commissioning Support: Perform and support electrical installations, upgrades, and commissioning activities in alignment with engineering standards.
· Drawings & Schematics: Interpret and apply single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings to support troubleshooting, system understanding, and design validation.
· RCA & Design Review Leadership: Participate in and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and design reviews; provide SME-level technical and operational insights to improve reliability, safety, and system performance.
· Union & Contractor Coordination: Lead coordination with in-house staff and union contractors to execute maintenance, projects, and shutdown activities effectively.
· Safety & Compliance: Enforce and adhere to all electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and regulatory requirements (OSHA, NFPA).
· Documentation & CMMS Execution: Ensure accurate documentation of inspections, PMs, and repairs within CMMS (Maximo preferred); support continuous improvement of maintenance records.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, operations, and vendors to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training, apprenticeship, or advanced certification preferred
· 6-10+ years of experience working with high and low voltage electrical systems in industrial or high-tech environments
· Strong hands-on expertise with motors, VFDs, BMS systems, and complex electrical troubleshooting
· Proven experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, data center, or similar critical facility environments
· Advanced ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings
· Experience leading or contributing to RCAs, troubleshooting reviews, and design discussions
· Experience working with union labor and contractors in a structured environment
· Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence
Preferred Experience:
· Experience with medium voltage systems and critical power infrastructure
· Exposure to fab-specific systems (process tools, cleanroom infrastructure, specialty systems)
· Familiarity with BMS platforms and controls integration in high-tech environments
· Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo preferred) for maintenance and PM management
· Electrical license or certification (state or local preferred)
