Lead Accountant

Lead Accountant – AI/Tech Startup

My client is a fast-growing ~$66m Series B AI startup building agentic AI solutions for payments and finance automation. We’re looking for a Lead Accountant who can translate complex accounting processes into scalable workflows, supporting high-growth operations and delivering measurable impact.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead accounting processes, close activities, and financial reporting
• Translate complex accounting requirements into reliable systems and workflows
• Partner with leadership and teams across finance and operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Drive adoption of best practices and process improvements
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to integrate accounting realities into technology solutions

Requirements:

• 1–4+ years accounting/audit/assurance experience in Big 4 or Public ccounting/audit/assuranceand ~1+ year experience in high-growth firms: SaaS, AI, fintech, tech, or other relevant technology sectors is necessary
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and end-to-end accounting processes
• Ability to implement scalable workflows, system configurations, and process improvements

Nice to Have:

• CPA qualification (advantageous but not required)
• Familiarity with modern accounting platforms and tools, or in short, being technical.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary and substantial equity in a well-funded, highly valued startup.

Location: Ideally full time in the office but a hybrid schedule is discussable
