POSITION SUMMARY

The Lawyer Support Assistant supports lawyers in the DC office by providing aligned, task‑based administrative support in a team-based environment. Working under the supervision of the Manager of Administration, this role operates within a collaborative team to deliver efficient, high‑quality support that adapts to changing practice needs. This is a non‑exempt position; work hours are dependent on office location and business needs


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide administrative support aligned to collaborative team structures, ensuring work is routed to the appropriate support lane.
  • Receive, acknowledge, and manage requests from lawyers, associates, and paralegals; communicate status updates and meet agreed‑upon deadlines.
  • Leverage workflows, firm tools, and specialized resources to deliver work efficiently and identify alternative solutions when appropriate.
  • Input lawyer time into WebTime and provide guidance on firm time entry standards.
  • Prepare expense reimbursements and process client‑related vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate firm and client meetings, including virtual and in‑person engagements.
  • Maintain calendars, contacts, and electronic filing systems.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements through the firm’s designated travel agency.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and courier services.
  • Handle incoming calls and route messages appropriately.
  • Coordinate document production, printing, scanning, and formatting.
  • Prepare and finalize correspondence, legal documents, presentations, tables of contents, and tables of authorities.
  • Provide backup coverage and collaborate with other assistants to ensure seamless team support.
  • Participate in firm initiatives, process improvements, and continuous learning efforts.



QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑based support model.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Professional communication skills and strong client service orientation.
  • Ability to manage expectations in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours and work overtime as needed.
  • LTC4 or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification preferred.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $61,000-$95,000 in Washington, DC. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
