Assists the Associate Dean for Faculty and Development and Academic Affairs with student and faculty matters related to the academic program of the law school. assist the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Academic Affairs with student consultations, bulletin procedures and course programming. Attend to faculty requests and faculty course evaluations. Perform complex secretarial and administrative duties, relieving a superior of operational details and assuring efficient office operation. Maintain/update online bulletin.
Develop law course schedule with Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Academic Affairs and enter course schedule in Colleague. Maintain/update Excel, Colleague, and all web-posted course grids for students and faculty.
Assist with 1L and evening student electives
Assign classrooms for all scheduled courses and exams.
Serve as Astra scheduling administrator running classroom conflict reports and serving as the back-up room scheduler for student organizations and other requestors.
Assist Skills Director with skills course programming and student registration. Manually add skills credits as needed to individual student records. Drop kills courses in LORA Self-Service for students who don’t complete assignments for skills credit.
Responsible for onboarding and assisting all adjuncts with their courses and serves as the point of contact for their academic concerns, student and technology questions, and planning purposes. Oversee adjunct faculty each year with all academic affairs in relation to their courses. Manages textbook ordering and parking passes for adjuncts. Maintains adjunct contact information and other data. Maintain peer review schedule for adjuncts each semester by faculty. Organize adjunct faculty appreciation/end of year reception and prepare awards.
Assist the associate Dean for Academic Affairs with collecting and tracking outstanding syllabi and 310 forms and other related ABA compliance issues.
Assist students with Independent Study enrollment and check limits.
Assist students with Change of Major forms.
Liaison with University on course evaluations for each course offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Assist with compiling and calculating statistical information for required academic and faculty sections of ABA, US News, and Princeton Review reports and any other accreditation reporting.
In conjunction with the Law School Budget Manager and Assistant, handle Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant requests from faculty.
Manifest advisee/advisor assignments each semester.
Maintain/update internal directory for distribution to faculty and staff.
Manage the online law bulletin including tracking and implementing.
Maintain the Law School Academic Affairs website as needed.
Assists with faculty office move logistics each year with the Building Manager.
Additional Responsibilities:
Use customary office machines and computer programs.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities required by the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Academic Affairs.
Bachelor’s Degree required or 5 years experience in a collegiate academic setting.
Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality of student, faculty, and staff information.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication and writing skills with the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
Ability to work productively in a team environment.
Competence in Microsoft Office Products, including Microsoft Excel and in Google docs and sheets.
Maintain organized computer files.
