Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team on the night shift. The role involves setting up, editing, and operating 3-axis and/or 4-axis CNC Lathes in accordance with blueprints and engineer drawings. Responsibilities include maintaining tolerances of +/- .003, adjusting for wear compensation, and performing first article inspections using precision measuring instruments. The position is situated in an R&D shop environment that supports production through building proprietary production machinery and equipment. The machinist will work with a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and occasionally exotic materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, edit, and operate 3-axis and/or 4-axis CNC Lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineer drawings.
• Maintain tolerances of +/- .003 and adjust for wear compensation.
• Edit G-code and M-code, and adjust offsets, feed, and speed.
• Perform first article inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
• Machine a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic materials.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of CNC Lathe experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineer drawings.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools for part inspection, including micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
• Experience in setting up CNC machines.
• Ability to perform edits at the controller, including G-code/M-code, offsets, feed, speed, and coordinate adjustments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with drill presses, grinding, mills, and machine operation.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. The R&D shop is a separate building from the fiberglass production area. The night shift runs from 5:30 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as needed. Initial training will be conducted on the day shift before transitioning to the night shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring, TX.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Spring,TX.
