LAS/IOWA Specialist and LPAC Clerk

Primary Purpose:

Lead and support the administration of LAS and IOWA assessments for Emergent Bilingual (EB) students across DFW and Greater Houston campuses (Houston, Liberty, College Station). Ensure accurate student identification, placement, and compliance with state and federal requirements. Maintain and monitor LPAC documentation to support district-wide compliance and student success.



Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Associate’s Degree (preferred)


Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bilingual: English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Zoom, email, and Skyward
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Travel to campuses within assigned regions


Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Assessment Coordination (Primary Focus)

  • Maintain expertise in LAS and IOWA assessments; be the primary contact for DRC
  • Coordinate and support testing administration across campuses
  • Provide direct testing support as needed
  • Train and guide campus and HQ staff on assessment procedures
  • Monitor assessment timelines and ensure completion within the testing window
  • Verify and report student data for accurate identification and placement

LPAC Compliance & Support

  • Organize and verify LPAC documentation
  • Ensure PEIMS coding accuracy and compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Conduct documentation audits and improve processes as needed
  • Communicate updates and procedures to EL Coordinators
  • Attend and present at LPAC trainings and meetings

Administrative Support

  • Perform duties as requested by the Executive Director of EB Support
  • Support district initiatives and reporting for EB programs
  • Assist with student, family, and community outreach


Working Conditions:

  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Prolonged use of computers and standard office equipment
  • Occasional bending, lifting, and repetitive hand motions
  • Travel to campuses as required
  • Have reliable transportation
