SELECTION PROCEDURE:
This is anOPENrecruitment to establish an eligibility list and hire subsitutes.

Language Assessment Proctors work on an hourly, on-call, as-needed basis.

The recruitment process will consist of a written and/or performance examination and an oral technical interview, which aretentativelyscheduled during the weeks ofApril 27-May 8, 2026. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.

(Click here for more information on the recruitment process.)Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assess students taking written, oral or performance examinations; execute written and verbal information/translations for parents and District staff; and prepare and maintain student profile folders as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Language Assessment Proctor II incumbents have proven proficiency in English and at least one additional foreign language. Language Assessment Proctor II incumbents provide oral and written interpretive translations. Language Assessment Proctor I incumbents proctor examinations without the use of foreign language skills (English Only).

(Click here for a complete job description.)Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school, experience as a translator or interpreter, and working with children whose primary language is not English.Positions in this class are required to speak, read, and write a second designated language (Language Assessment Proctor II only). Successful completion of the District’s competency tests in reading, writing, and mathematics is required before employment (Language Assessment Proctor I/II).

Some positions may require the use of a personal automobile and possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
