Guiding Principles: Learning, Respect, Integrity, Communication, Cooperation, Joy, and Innovation Role of the Landscaping & Groundskeeper: The Landscaping & Groundskeeper supports the Cisco College mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and visually appealing campus environment. This position is responsible for the upkeep of landscaping, grounds, and outdoor facilities at the Abilene campus. Landscaping & Groundskeeper’s Team: The Groundskeeper works collaboratively with the Physical Plant Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and campus personnel. Responsibilities: • Maintain campus grounds through mowing, trimming, and weed control • Operate and maintain irrigation systems • Maintain signage and parking lot striping • Maintain outdoor furniture and décor • Trim trees, shrubs, and landscaping • Operate mowing equipment safely • Maintain equipment performance Effective: April 2026 • Apply pesticides per safety standards • Replace plants and perform seasonal planting • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness • Support campus projects • Perform other duties as assigned Essential Qualifications and Experience: • Experience with sprinkler systems or willingness to learn • Ability to operate equipment • Effective communication skills • Ability to work outdoors • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Qualifications: • Landscaping experience • Small engine repair • Irrigation knowledge Posting and Application Details: The Landscaping & Groundskeeper position is based on the Abilene campus. Occasional travel to and from campuses may be required. It is a full- time, 12 -month position. Cisco College offers a generous benefit package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
