The Role:
We are seeking a talented and collaborative Land Planner to support our Planning and Design Team in the Salt Lake City area, UT.
In this role, you will contribute to a wide range of impactful land planning projects across the Western U.S., including master plans, entitlements, code development, and urban design initiatives. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to create thoughtful, community-focused planning solutions supported by strong analysis, graphics, and storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing planning and entitlement documents for a variety of design projects
- Project statistics, demographics, and code analysis
- Code writing and interpretation
- Collaborating directly with internal and external clients
- Creating illustrative exhibits including 3D models, plan review, and sketches
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field (ex - Urban Design, Policy, and Environmental Planning)
- 5+ year of experience in urban planning and/or related field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to network with clients and build relationships
- Knowledge of Planning and Zoning ordinances, codes, and processes
- Self-motivated with ability to work efficiently/accurately under pressure
- Strong skills across a wide range of productivity and design programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Suite)
Preferred:
- Skills in code reform and drafting
- Working knowledge of form-based and Euclidian codes
- Advanced skills in programs such as Excel, InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp (or equivalent 3D modeling program), ArcGIS
