Lactation Consultant - Mother Baby-Postpartum - Full Time Day

Mothers and babies start their journey here with expert nurses at their side and the finest resources at their command. Our nurses specialize in a myriad of Women's and Neonatal Health areas including obstetrics and gynecology, neonatology, labor and delivery and more.

You’ll work with the brightest minds in healthcare to make tomorrow better for countless human beings. Lactation Consultantsare responsible for the direct provision of effective and comprehensive nursing care to patients and their familiesacross the Maternal-Child Units. The Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is an expert in the management of the breastfeeding mother-baby dyad. They are a coach, teacher, and lactation expert. As consultants, they work collaboratively with the Providers and Nursing care teams to develop feeding plans for a range of infants from newborn to the complex neonate.

This is a Full Time Day position 7:00AM to 3:15 PM , with weekend coverageat New York-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital.

Preferred Criteria:

• Experience as a Lactation Consultant or Specialist

• Excellent communication skills, leadership, and teaching potential

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing

• Current New York State License as a Registered Nurse

Required Criteria:

• IBCLC Certification training course

• Certification by IBLCE (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners)
