About the Role:

Role Overview

We are hiring for a Lab Technician position within a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team. This is a field-based, compliance-driven role focused on inspecting and testing pipelines, welds, and industrial equipment to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This role involves a mix of lab work, field inspections, and travel, and is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working in dynamic environments and following strict procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on:
  • Pipeline welds and new construction pipelines
  • Structural welds at industrial plants
  • Equipment such as bucket trucks and lift devices
  • Conduct inspections at various job sites, including wind turbines (working at heights)
  • Follow strict compliance standards, codes, and safety procedures
  • Work with radiation-based testing equipment (after training and certification)
  • Travel daily to assigned job sites based on project schedules


Work Environment & Structure

  • Work is performed in teams of two
  • Daily reporting to the lab, followed by travel to job sites
  • Company vehicles are provided for site travel
  • Job locations vary daily across the region


Work Schedule

  • Average work week: 50–55 hours
  • Shift duration: 8 to 16 hours, depending on project needs
  • Weekend work:
  • Offered on a voluntary basis first
  • May become mandatory if staffing is required


Required Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures, codes, and acceptance criteria
  • Willingness to work long hours and travel regularly
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions (including heights)
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Preferred (Not Mandatory):

  • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
  • Background in Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
  • Inspection or manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments

Note: Candidates without NDT experience are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.


Training & Certification

  • Mandatory 40-hour Radiation Safety Training
  • Candidates must pass a certification test after training
  • Additional on-the-job training will be provided
