Description:
Summary: With guidance from supervision, assists technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. Works as part of a team to support the research and development of plant genome editing technologies. Desired skills include familiarity with routine molecular biology techniques.
Job Description: Assists team members conducting experiments and technical operations. Understands and follows laboratory protocols and completes tasks in a timely fashion. Helps formulate work plans and efficiently manages own daily workload.
The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in biochemistry, biological science, genetics, or related field
• Familiarity performing routine molecular biology procedures including but not limited to
o vector construction
o E. coli transformation
o DNA extraction (plasmid and genomic)
o PCR
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientated
• Ability to follow company safety policies and procedures
