POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician with 4–5 years of infrastructure expertise to support a high-density, enterprise data center environment onsite in Sparks, NV. This role acts as the critical hands-on tier for deployment, hardware maintenance, and day-to-day operational uptime. Working in a collaborative team structure across rotational day shifts, you will build out new structural hardware architectures, run and manage complex cable systems, and execute rapid component-level hardware diagnostics to ensure zero systemic downtime.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute high-volume rack and stack deployments of multi-vendor servers, switches, routers, and enterprise storage arrays based on structural layout blueprints.
Run, route, dress, and meticulously label fiber-optic and copper network patches, maintaining pristine cable management pathways within data center containment zones.
Troubleshoot diverse server hardware architectures to isolate bare-metal system failures; order replacement components, perform local physical swaps, and process RMA shipments back to suppliers.
Flash, validate, and update system firmware versions on active equipment to ensure baseline configuration compliance and corporate security readiness.
Coordinate with remote network engineering teams to perform hot-swaps of faulty transceiver optics, re-patch localized switch trunks, and temporarily stage hardware for remote provisioning.
Assist with the systematic decommissioning of end-of-life hardware assets, executing secure asset logging and sanitization processing according to internal quality controls.
