TheWahkiakum School District serves approximately 450 K-12 students in Wahkiakum County and is located on a bluff in Cathlamet, Washington, overlooking the Lower Columbia River. Wahkiakum School District will have an opening for a Music Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The position will teach K-12 Music and middle school and high school band. Wahkiakum is a four-day school week.
Salary:$52.576 - $98,557 annual base salary based on the 2025–2026 Wahkiakum School District Certificated Salary Schedule for a 159-day contract, plus up to 4 additional contract days available above the base salary. Placement on the salary schedule is based on verified years of experience and educational attainment in accordance with district policy and the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
This salary range reflects the 2025–2026 certificated salary schedule. The 2026–2027 certificated salary schedule has not yet been finalized and may be subject to change through the collective bargaining process.

Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instructional activities consistent with the K-12 Washington State's Art Learning Standards/National Core Arts Standards.
Support student engagement by participating in extracurricular activities, including coaching Pep Band.
Maintain appropriate records.
Plan and perform music programs to include Veterans Day (if requested), winter and spring performances.
Provide clear and focused instruction for all students by using a variety of teaching materials and strategies that promote student engagement and interaction.
Provide on-going assessment and monitor students for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals by using quality classroom-based assessment tools.
Establish and maintain a standard of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, safe and productive learning environment.
Communicate positively and regularly with parents and/or legal guardians in the areas of growth, student progress, and teacher expectations; develop meaningful collaboration between home and school.
Cooperate with principal, staff, and community in implementation of comprehensive program in music.
Attend faculty, department and district meetings as requested.
Collaborate with building and district-wide staff, para-educators, and volunteers for the purpose of providing an effective school program.
Participate in professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications:
Must possess a current Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement.
