Salary:JRO2 $33.40 Hourly, JRO1 $31.79 Hourly. The salary does not include an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.
Schedule: On-call work is intermittent in nature and does not fit a particular pattern. The work hours/days are dependent upon business needs. We are especially interested in those willing to accept Graveyard shifts.
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is looking for Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2s to provide security and safety services for residents, staff, and visitors at Canyon View Community Facility, a minimum-security residential youth program.

The Opportunity:
You will assist counselors on the floor, be a role model to our youth residents, intervene if necessary, when conflicts arise, and ultimately, ensure a safe and secure environment for our youth to prosper. You will serve as a director mentor for JRO1 security staff while you learn about the Juvenile Rehabilitation philosophy and treatment model, which will prepare you for a variety of career advancement opportunities as you support rehabilitative programming for our youth.

Required qualifications:
The goal class is a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 however, we will consider candidates at the Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 1 level, with a path to meet the qualifications through an In-Training plan. Selected candidates must advance to the goal classification of Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 within 12 months of hire.
Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2:
One year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 1.
OR
One year of relevant experience (full-time equivalency) in counseling, criminal justice, juvenile justice, education, psychology, sociology, behavioral health, or social service.
AND
Note:Two years of college will substitute for one year of experience.
If hired at the Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 1 level:
One year (full-time equivalency) of demonstrated work experience or volunteer work

Note:Two years of college will substitute for one year of experience.
