KEY PURPOSE:

The Junior Designer – Softgoods will support the design and development of softgoods products from concept through commercialization, contributing creative solutions that align with brand strategy, consumer needs, and commercial objectives. The role will also assist in the execution of seasonal product ranges through research, concept generation, design development, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration, while building expertise in materials, construction methods, and product creation processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design & Concept Development

• Support the creation of seasonal product concepts, colorways, graphics, and material stories.
• Develop sketches, renderings, and technical drawings using industry-standard design software.
• Assist in translating consumer insights and market trends into compelling product solutions.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to product ranges.

Product Development

• Create and maintain design specifications, tech packs, and product documentation.
• Work with development teams to ensure design intent is accurately executed.
• Review prototypes and samples, documenting feedback and suggested improvements.
• Support fit, function, and usability testing of products.

Research & Trend Analysis

• Conduct market, competitor, and consumer research.
• Monitor trends in materials, colors, construction techniques, and sustainability.
• Assist in compiling seasonal inspiration and trend presentations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with product development, sourcing, merchandising, and marketing teams.
• Communicate design updates and maintain project documentation.
• Participate in sample reviews and product meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• 1–2 years of relevant design experience, including internships or university projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Strong sketching, visualization, and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Ability to create technical drawings and product specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑first, high‑energy environment, with a positive, can‑do, customer‑focused attitude.
