Required Skills & Experience
• BA or BS preferred: 1-3 years related experience including experience in planning and purchasing of castings, machined and sheet metal fabricated parts and standard electronic components and hardware.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Work, Excel and Outlook
• Supply Management skills
• Knowledge of MRP systems; Epicor System a plus
• Exposure to manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment a must
• Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and knowledge of electronic components and machined and sheet metal parts is required
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, negotiation skills as well as communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with suppliers and co-workers
• Must be a self-starter with drive for continuous cost improvements and have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment

Job Description
• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
• Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
• Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation to accounting.
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices using Epicor MRP system.
• Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Manages vendor relationships through phone and email correspondence
• Assist receiving department to ensure timely receipt of materials and assist accounts payable in resolving any invoice discrepancies.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Compares and evaluates vendor pricing.
• Track orders and ensures timely delivery.
