This role performs a wide range of commercial plumbing repairs, installations, and upgrades across diverse facilities. You interpret mechanical drawings, install and maintain piping systems for water, gas, and compressed air, and complete both routine and emergency service work. You handle everything from minor repairs to more complex piping and line re-routing, while following company procedures for inventory and material requisitions. Work Environment
Work takes place across a variety of commercial and multi-unit settings, including hotels, restaurants, strip malls, retail locations, and multi-unit apartment buildings. You travel between job sites to perform installations, repairs, and maintenance in both occupied and unoccupied spaces. The role involves working with common plumbing materials such as PVC, copper, and cast iron, and using tools and equipment for brazing, soldering, and pipe installation.
Hours follow a standard full-time schedule, with the need to respond to emergency repair calls as required by project demands.
The environment can vary from finished interior spaces to active construction areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols and appropriate work attire suitable for commercial job sites.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Waukegan, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
