HVAC Technician | Genesee County, MI
A well-respected medical facility in Genesee County is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join its Facilities team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled trades professional who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, values stability, and wants to work in an environment where their work truly matters. In this role, you’ll help maintain critical heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems that support patient care and daily hospital operations.
We’re looking for someone with strong troubleshooting ability, hands-on mechanical skills, and experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Work with compressors, condensers, pumps, piping, climate controls, and related systems
- Read blueprints, technical specifications, and equipment manuals
- Test and balance heating and cooling systems
- Maintain service records and collaborate with other skilled trades professionals
- Support a safe, compliant, and reliable healthcare environment
What We’re Looking For
Qualified candidates will have either:
- Journeyman-level Plumber or Pipefitter experience with HVAC training
OR
- Four years of experience in industrial maintenance, building trades, or related environments along with formal HVAC/Refrigeration training
Additional qualifications include:
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling
- Strong HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation
- Knowledge of warm air and hydronics systems
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, and attention to safety
Candidates must obtain a Warm Air or Hydronics Heating License within two years of hire.
