Job Description

This role supports complex instrumentation and controls (I&C) electrical work at a large industrial technology campus. The electrician will focus on conduit installation, wire management, and other electrical applications such as motor controls, lighting, and terminations, using basic hand tools. The position suits mid-level apprentices and experienced journeyman electricians who can independently perform high-quality electrical installations in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, bend, and run conduit 1.5 inches or smaller, primarily EMT, in accordance with project specifications and electrical codes.
  • Perform precise conduit bending for EMT and rigid conduit to support clean, organized installations.
  • Install control panels, ensuring proper mounting, alignment, and secure connections.
  • Install cable trays to support routing of electrical and control wiring throughout the facility.
  • Pull and route wire through conduit and cable trays, maintaining proper wire management and labeling practices.
  • Support I&C electrical work, including tasks related to motor controls, lighting, terminations, and other electrical applications based on project needs and individual expertise.
  • Use basic hand tools safely and effectively to complete daily electrical tasks.
  • Follow site safety procedures and project guidelines while working across a large industrial campus.
  • Adapt to additional assigned responsibilities as needed to support overall project progress.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as an electrician, with a experience in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Proven experience working as a journeyman electrician or mid-level electrical apprentice on construction or industrial projects.
  • Hands-on experience bending and running EMT conduit, including 1.5-inch or smaller sizes.
  • Experience bending and installing rigid conduit in accordance with project requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to install cable tray systems to support electrical and control wiring.
  • Proficiency in pulling wire and managing wire routing through conduit and cable trays.
  • Working knowledge of electrical applications such as motor controls, lighting, and terminations.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and efficiently for electrical installation tasks.
  • Physical ability to walk extensively across a large job site and work in active construction areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience performing I&C (instrumentation and controls) electrical work in industrial or high-tech facilities.
  • Experience in installing and working with control panels and related control wiring.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure clean, organized, and code-compliant installations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a large, fast-paced construction environment.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to arrive early to access the site via shuttle.

Work Environment

The role is based at a large industrial technology campus, specifically the Ocotillo site, operating within an active construction environment. The schedule is approximately 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each day begins with parking in a designated lot and taking a shuttle to the job site, so arrival at the parking area must be early enough to reach the meeting area by 5:30 a.m. The campus is extensive, and the position requires substantial walking between work areas. The building is currently not fully enclosed, which can result in higher temperatures in the work area until enclosure is complete. Work is performed using basic hand tools and standard electrical installation equipment in an industrial construction setting

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
