Java Engineer
Location: Sunrise, FL (they are open to relo candidates as long as they can be on-site day one in Sunrise, FL)
Duration: 12+ months
Remote: Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 days remote)
No 3rd party consultant
Important notes:
The client is looking for candidates coming from the tech space - FAANG - Facebook, Meta, Google, etc.
The AI tools experience is very important along with the Java development
The client is loves to see someone's active GitHub link - they want to see their work: Include links to:
- GitHub profile or portfolio
- Live products or projects you've built
- Examples of how you use AI tools in your workflow
Required:
- Experience working with Tech Industry preferred
- 3+ years backend Java engineering experience (Java 11+, Spring Boot, microservices)
- Strong understanding of ORMs (Spring Data, Hibernate) and database design
- Hands-on AI tool usage (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) in real development workflows—not just experimentation
- Personal projects or side products you've built and launched—we want to see your GitHub, live apps, open source contributions, or anything that shows you build outside of work
- Solid grasp of authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, security best practices)
Ideal Candidate:
- Has shipped products independently (SaaS tools, Chrome extensions, open source libraries, revenue-generating projects, etc.)
- Works with AI as a co-pilot to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality
- Thrives in fast-moving environments where speed and iteration matter
- Brings entrepreneurial energy—you build things because you want to, not just because you're told to
