About META PCs

We build custom PCs people actually want to own. Since 2021 we've grown from a small online operation into a multi-location company with a warehouse and showroom in Phoenix, retail stores in Gilbert and Peoria, and a large, loyal audience that follows everything we build. We move fast, we ship a lot of machines, and we care about doing things right.

The Role

We're hiring an IT Systems Administrator to own the day-to-day systems that keep the company running so our development team can stay focused on building. This is a hands-on, do-it-all IT role for someone who likes variety and wants real ownership, not a narrow seat where you do the same thing every day.

You'll touch almost everything technical that isn't core software development: the machines we ship, the systems our team uses, our network across three locations, and the tools that keep the business moving.

What You'll Own
  • Imaging and build configuration. Build and maintain the OS images, driver packages, and validation process for the computers we sell. This is part of our product quality, not just internal IT.
  • Infrastructure and networking. Stand up and maintain servers, Active Directory, email, file storage, and backups. Own the network across Phoenix, Gilbert, and Peoria: VLAN setup and management, site-to-site VPNs between locations, and wifi optimization and security.
  • Security and access. Own MFA, endpoint protection, patching, and our password manager. Make sure backups actually work and that accounts get shut off the day someone leaves.
  • Onboarding and offboarding. Partner with HR to provision devices and accounts for new hires, and recover them cleanly when people move on.
  • Website operations. Handle light website maintenance and product uploads, and work with the dev team on updates. You're the site operator here, not a second developer.
  • Software and vendors. Manage our SaaS subscriptions, licenses, and renewals so we stop paying for things twice.
  • Documentation. Write it down. Build the runbooks so the company isn't dependent on any one person's memory.
Nice to Have
  • Experience using AI tools to speed up reporting, documentation, or routine tasks
  • Scripting (PowerShell or similar) for automation
  • Familiarity with Shopify or a comparable platform
  • Inventory or ERP systems (like Fishbowl)
  • Retail/POS or MSP background (one-person-IT-shop experience translates well here)
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years in IT, systems administration, or a similar hands-on technical role
  • Strong Windows administration, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 / email admin
  • Comfort with imaging and deployment tools, plus PC hardware (you'll have your hands on machines daily)
  • Solid networking fundamentals: switches, firewalls, wifi, VPN
  • Security basics done right: MFA, patching, backups, endpoint protection
  • A self-starter who can prioritize, work independently, and document as they go
  • Based in the Phoenix area and able to work on-site
The Details
  • Full-time, on-site at our Phoenix location, with occasional travel to the Gilbert and Peoria stores
  • Compensation: $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
