EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any area. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any area.

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

Job Duties:
Assist with implementation and maintenance of edge network infrastructure:
Participate in the configuration, deployment, and validation of network hardware and software at agency and multi-tenant sites
Support installation of Layer 2/3 equipment, enterprise Wi-Fi systems, and access control technologies under supervision
Assist with cabling needs, hardware replacements, and physical site readiness as part of new deployments
Follow implementation standards and playbooks developed by architects and senior engineers
Document site configurations, IP addressing, and equipment status for operational records
Coordinate with vendors, agency contacts, and internal teams to support on-site and remote implementations
Provide technical support and basic troubleshooting in assigned region:
Respond to routine incidents and service requests related to user access, connectivity, or network equipment
Perform initial diagnostics and basic troubleshooting for issues involving switches, wireless, or cabling
Replace or reconfigure hardware as directed to restore service
Escalate unresolved or advanced issues to network engineers or senior staff with clear technical notes
Maintain timely and accurate updates to support tickets and documentation
Participate in technical training and professional development:
Complete formal training and hands-on instruction to build proficiency with OTS network systems and tools
Learn to support advanced technologies including SDN, NAC, and enterprise wireless platforms
Demonstrate growth in technical independence, reliability, and situational judgment
Perform other duties as assigned:
Assist with special projects, documentation initiatives, and inventory or site audits as directed by management
