MajorDuties

  • As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/OS), some of your duties will include, but are not limited to: Responsible for planning and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration management of hardware and software systems used within a SCADA/EMS real-time power operations system, and/or in support of other assigned program areas. Performs the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and application software. Determines customer, application, and industry requirements, analyzes current systems and new technologies to provide recommendations to customers and IT management. Assists in the development of budget projections used to determine the long-term replacement or upgrade of IT systems. Participates as a member of Regional and/or Corporate IT planning and coordination teams.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. This employer participates in the e-Verify program. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Total salary varies depending on location of position. Occasional travel, up to 10% annually may be required, with overnight travel possible. This position may require regular and recurring overtime. The duties of this position may require the incumbent to be placed in a 24/7 on-call status on a rotational basis. On-call status on a rotational basis is anticipated to be approximately 20-40% of the year, depending upon duty station. While in on-call status, the incumbent must remain within 30 minutes of their residence. Incumbent understands this position is designated Emergency Essential.
