IT Support Technician

Full‑Time | On‑Site | Intermediate Level

Position Overview

An IT Support Technician is needed to provide hands‑on technical support for end users across multiple sites. This role includes troubleshooting hardware, supporting software installations, assisting with mobile devices, and performing basic network checks before escalating issues. The position is long‑term, stable, and intended to convert into a full‑time role with opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on‑site support for desktops, laptops, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot issues with monitors, keyboards, mice, handheld devices, and mobile equipment.
  • Support mobile devices, including phones and tablets, across multiple operating systems.
  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software as needed.
  • Perform basic network connectivity checks and escalate complex issues to specialized teams.
  • Maintain strong customer service standards when assisting end users.
  • Document work, track issues, and follow established support processes.
  • Support IT asset management activities, including procurement, configuration, repair, and tracking.
  • Assist with local projects, equipment upgrades, and general IT operations.
  • Travel occasionally to nearby sites as needed.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software.
  • Ability to support end users with patience, professionalism, and clear communication.
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to work with users of all technical levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Basic understanding of network connectivity and how systems communicate.
  • Reliable, respectful, and able to maintain positive working relationships.

Qualifications

  • Experience in desktop or technical support preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern operating systems and general IT support practices.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.
  • Additional experience with deployment tools, antivirus platforms, or backup systems is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

  • On‑site technical support across multiple nearby facilities.
  • Stable, long‑term role with the expectation of full‑time conversion.
  • Occasional travel may be required after conversion.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Asheville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
