This position is for a senior server administrator with extensive experience on various Windows server Operating Systems. The position requires hands on expertise in Windows Server technologies, with responsibilities that include server administration, issue resolution, and ensuring optimal platform performance. The role also demands strong diagnostic skills to address complex technical problems, maintain a stable and secure server environment, and support ongoing operational needs.
Responsible for the build, configuration, operation, and on-going support of Windows-based servers including installation of Operating Systems and associated software/firmware.
Ensures the overall health and availability of assigned servers.
Utilizes advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose complex issues.
Executes necessary steps required to take corrective action.
Responsible for the management and repair of server hardware, software, tools, and peripherals.
Ensures servers are documented in inventory including all required information as outlined in procedural documentation.
Configures component monitoring of servers for disk volumes, CPU, Memory, Hardware Health, Physical/Virtual Memory, Network Interfaces, and Asset Inventory.
Leads or assists in developing purchase specifications.
Prepares quotes and facilitates purchasing of new servers and equipment.
Ensures ITS managed servers are updated and vulnerabilities remediated in accordance with security compliance requirements for firmware, operating system and first-party software.
Manages server permissions utilizing the principle of least privilege.
Performs server break/fix functions and makes recommendations for corrective action.
Leads or assists in implementation of automation through PowerShell and other tools.
Coordinates third party activities on servers.
Coordinates implementation of the server backups.
Participates in the planning, building, and testing of the business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.
Creates and maintains procedures specific to functional areas.
Prepares clear and concise documentation which is appropriate and relevant to the audience.
Communicates technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Assists in deployment of Linux-based servers where applicable.
Five(5) years of server administrator experience with Windows Servers (physical and virtual) in a business-level setting.

7-10+ years of education and experience in Server Administration
Experience administering Windows Domain related roles
Server related professional certifications relevant to the scope of work
Experience administering Linux or Linux certifications
