This role involves advising sponsors, fund managers, and investment platforms on the formation, structuring, and ongoing operation of private and public investment funds across a range of asset classes. The ideal candidate will work closely with partners and clients on fund formation matters, regulatory compliance, and investor-facing documentation, while developing a deep understanding of client objectives and market dynamics. Responsibilities:

• Lead and build out the firm’s Investment Funds practice, including strategy, structure, and growth
• Advise clients on fund formation, structuring, and ongoing operations across various fund types
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund formation and investor documents
• Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies for the practice
• Represent the firm through content creation, thought leadership, and industry events
• Collaborate with firm leadership to scale the practice and mentor junior attorneys

Requirements:

• A J.D. from an accredited law school + a NY bar license
• 5+ years of experience in investment funds or a related practice area
• A strong background in fund formation and investment management work
• Experience at a top-tier BigLaw firm or similar high-level environment
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills

Bonus Experience:

• An existing book of business
• Experience with a variety of fund types (VC, PE, hedge, real estate, etc.)
• Have attended a Top 20 law school and/or experience at a Top 40 law firm
