INVENTORY & DEMAND PLANNING ANALYST
About Us
JP Ecommerce, doing business as Bare Home, has been named one of the top-ten fastest growing businesses in Minnesota by Inc. 5000 for four consecutive years. With annual sales approaching $100 million, we are a leading eCommerce retailer committed to providing customers with high-quality bedding through our brand Bare Home. As a global player in the textile industry, we source products from key regions including China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey, while also manufacturing cotton products in the USA. We emphasize cost-effectiveness, superior quality, and reliable availability through optimized operations and strategic partnerships.
Position Overview
Bare Home is seeking a technically sharp, detail-driven Inventory & Demand Planning Analyst to sit at the intersection of data, forecasting, and operations. This is a hands-on analytical role — you will own the numbers that drive our inventory decisions, build and maintain the models that keep us in stock and out of trouble, and work directly within our ERP and demand planning systems to ensure our data is clean, current, and actionable.
The right candidate brings strong SQL skills, lives in Excel and Power BI, understands how demand planning tools are configured and optimized (not just opened), and has working knowledge of Amazon Seller Central or FBA fulfillment operations. You do not wait to be told what the data says — you already know, and you bring a recommendation with it.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Analysis
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels across all SKUs, warehouses, and fulfillment channels — identifying overstock, understock, and slow-moving positions and recommending corrective action
- Build and maintain safety stock models, reorder point calculations, and replenishment triggers tied to lead time, demand variability, and service level targets
- Track inbound purchase orders, vendor shipment timelines, and receipts — flagging gaps or delays before they impact operations
- Support seasonal planning cycles, prebook order management, and inventory alignment with promotional calendars
- Manage and maintain inventory master data integrity within the ERP system — if the data is wrong, the plan is wrong
Demand Forecasting & Planning Tools
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve short- and long-range demand forecasts using statistical models, historical sales data, and market signals
- Operate and optimize our demand planning software platform — experience configuring or implementing a tool (Slimstock, Blue Yonder, o9, SAP IBP, NetSuite, or similar) is a strong plus
- Ensure planning system parameters — lead times, safety stock logic, replenishment rules — accurately reflect current business realities and are updated as conditions change
- Identify forecast accuracy issues at the SKU level and drive root cause analysis to reduce error rates over time
- Support S&OP and cross-functional planning cycles with accurate, well-documented demand data
ERP Systems & Data Management
- Work fluently within our ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or equivalent) for inventory tracking, purchase order management, and reporting
- Maintain data quality and accuracy within ERP/MRP modules — validate inputs, identify discrepancies, and own corrections
- Support ERP configuration improvements and participate in system enhancement projects related to inventory and planning workflows
- Serve as a subject matter resource for inventory and planning data within the system
SQL, Excel & Power BI
- Write and execute SQL queries independently to extract, join, and transform data from internal databases — this is a daily tool, not an occasional one
- Build and maintain advanced Excel models: replenishment trackers, open-to-buy analysis, vendor scorecards, lead time variance models, and forecast vs. actual comparisons
- Develop and own Power BI dashboards that give operations and leadership real-time visibility into inventory position, forecast accuracy, and supply chain KPIs
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights — you present a story and a recommendation, not just a table of numbers
- Automate recurring reporting workflows where possible to increase capacity for higher-value analysis
Amazon & Fulfillment Channel Management
- Support demand and inventory planning for Amazon FBA and FBM channels — understanding how replenishment cadence, IPI scores, storage limits, and lead time requirements affect inventory strategy
- Monitor Amazon Seller Central data: stranded inventory, restock recommendations, sell-through rates, and aged inventory fees — flagging issues and recommending corrective actions
- Coordinate inbound FBA shipment planning aligned with demand forecasts and promotional timing
- Apply working knowledge of fulfillment operations — 3PL, warehouse workflows, pick-pack-ship processes — to ensure inventory plans are executable on the ground
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, and Finance to ensure inventory plans are aligned and communicated effectively
- Work with overseas vendors across China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey to share demand signals, track production timelines, and surface supply risk early
- Support Finance with inventory position reporting and working capital inputs tied to inventory levels
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear, business-ready format
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in inventory planning, demand planning, supply chain analytics, or a closely related role
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience working within a product-based or eCommerce business environment
Technical Skills
- Proficient in SQL — writes and executes queries independently; uses data to drive decisions, not just confirm them
- Advanced Excel skills: XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Power Query, pivot tables, dynamic models, and data validation
- Hands-on Power BI experience — building dashboards, connecting data sources, and publishing reports for operational and leadership audiences
- Experience working within an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or equivalent) for inventory control, purchasing, and data management
- Familiarity with at least one demand planning or forecasting software platform — experience using a tool to actively build and manage forecasts, not just receive outputs
- Working knowledge of Amazon Seller Central, FBA operations, or eCommerce fulfillment platforms
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
- Experience supporting or participating in a demand planning software implementation or ERP go-live
- Familiarity with Slimstock, Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, or SAP IBP specifically
- Background in eCommerce, consumer goods, or retail with high SKU counts and seasonal demand patterns
Core Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage large, complex data sets with accuracy and structure
- Clear communicator — can translate complex data into plain language recommendations for cross-functional audiences
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Collaborative team player who builds trust with internal partners and external vendors alike
What We Offer
- Competitive salary: $75,000 – $95,000 based on experience and technical qualifications
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Paid time off and holidays
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where analytical work directly drives business decisions
- Real opportunity to grow with a function we are actively building — your impact here is visible
