Location: Round Rock, TX 78665

Pay Rate: $25/Hour on W2

Schedule: * Training (First 12 Months): Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.

Post-Training/Permanent Shift: Mon–Fri, 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM CST.


Role Overview

The Logistics/Inventory Control Specialist is a critical role within the operations group, primarily responsible for the proactive control of inventory within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position ensures the accurate storage, release, and distribution (internal and external) of materials while maintaining strict compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Safety systems.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Accuracy

  • Proactively control inventory levels and ensure 100% accuracy of all counts.
  • Perform regular cycle counting and maintain up-to-date records of all inventory locations.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies; implement preventative actions to mitigate future errors.
  • Manage the timely disposal or processing of expired and non-conforming items.

Receiving & Material Control

  • Execute the full receiving process: match packing slips to purchase orders, perform detailed material reviews, and tag/identify goods.
  • Post inventory receipts into management software and ensure proper storage.
  • Issue inventory and consumables, perform stock returns (RMA), and ensure timely delivery to internal end-users.

Shipping & Distribution

  • Manage the shipment of finished goods, raw materials, and samples.
  • Ensure all shipments strictly adhere to DOT and IATA regulations.
  • Handle daily order closeouts, including posting and invoice printing.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service and Operations regarding specialized shipping regulations.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to all company policies, cGMP requirements, and Health & Safety protocols.
  • Maintain necessary certifications required for the handling and distribution of materials.
  • Work with the team to maintain safety stocks for consumables (shippers, trays, etc.).


Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Business or Science discipline preferred).
  • Experience: Commensurate experience in chemical handling, distribution, or material management. Prior experience in MilliporeSigma production or analytical areas is a plus.


Skills & Competencies

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT/IATA shipping regulations.
  • Technical Accuracy: High level of speed and precision in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Soft Skills: Strong verbal/written communication, team-oriented attitude, and the ability to stay composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and change direction quickly based on business needs.


Physical Requirements & Environment

  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility: Standing or walking for approximately 75% of the workday; ability to bend and reach to retrieve products.
  • PPE: This role involves exposure to chemicals/substances requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Exposure: Potential exposure to human blood or blood products.
