Job Title: Inventory Associate
Job Description

The Inventory Associate supports manufacturing operations by accurately receiving, storing, tracking, and shipping materials and products, while also assisting in the assembly of medical devices in a clean, regulated environment. This role works closely with production teams to ensure materials are available when needed, inventory records are up to date, and finished goods are properly packaged and prepared for outbound freight.

Responsibilities

  • Receive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks at the loading area in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Handle the shipment of materials and load trucks used for outbound shipping.
  • Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and verify that products in each delivery match the packing list and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with Manufacturing to support material movement and storage needs in alignment with production and testing schedules.
  • Update product inventory records as products are received, stored, retrieved, and shipped, ensuring accuracy in the inventory system.
  • Perform inventory control tasks, including cycle counts, to maintain accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Package materials appropriately for shipment or storage, including final packaging, preparation for storage, finished goods palletizing, and preparation for outbound freight.
  • Use RF scanners, ERP or SAP systems, and related tools to manage inventory transactions and order entry.
  • Assemble plastic, metal, and electrical components into medical devices according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Utilize small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, and test fixtures during assembly and material handling activities.
  • Maintain clean room integrity by following all required clean room environmental practices and protocols.
  • Follow all logistics, shipping, and receiving procedures to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials.
  • Support general warehouse and manufacturing tasks as needed to meet production and shipping deadlines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of inventory and warehouse experience.
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in inventory control practices, including cycle counting and inventory tracking.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packing and preparing materials for outbound freight.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and related inventory management tools.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts and components.
  • Ability to read and compare packing lists, purchase orders, and related documentation with attention to detail.
  • Capability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, including loading and unloading trucks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with logistics and inventory control in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with order entry processes in an ERP or SAP environment.
  • Comfort using small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, and test fixtures.
  • Experience assembling plastic, metal, and electrical components, particularly in a regulated or cleanroom environment.
  • Ability to follow clean room environmental practices and maintain a controlled work area.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with Manufacturing and other departments.
  • Reliability and flexibility to support occasional mandatory weekend work based on business needs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small manufacturing and warehouse environment with approximately 40 full-time employees. The facility includes a clean, organized production area and a cleanroom where assemblers work seated while handling small parts and medical device components. Work is performed on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with openness to occasional mandatory weekend work depending on business needs. The environment involves regular interaction with inventory systems such as ERP or SAP, RF scanners, and standard warehouse equipment for receiving, storing, and shipping materials. Cleanroom practices must be followed to maintain environmental integrity and product quality, and employees are expected to adhere to all safety and cleanliness standards appropriate for a medical device manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Halethorpe, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
