Job Brief: Intern – Clinical & Health Systems

The Clinical and Health Systems Intern, under the direction of Senior Manager for Executive Operations, will assist with day-to-day business support, providing assistance in ensuring quality and service targets are attained.

Summary:

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) is one of Georgia’s largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups. More than 700 physicians and 300 associate practitioners work together in a unique integrated care model to provide high-quality care to Kaiser Permanente members. Our focus is on long-term health, effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Care is delivered across 40+ specialties at 26 medical offices featuring state-of-the-art equipment, labs, imaging services, and pharmacies. We also provide surgical services and around-the-clock care at some of the area’s top hospitals. We invite applications for an intern in Clinical & Health Systems based at our regional office.

What You Can Expect:

Clinical Exposure and Shadowing

· Participate in supervised clinical observation experiences across select Kaiser Permanente Georgia care settings.

· Observe interdisciplinary care teams to understand clinical workflows, patient engagement, and coordinated care delivery.

· Gain exposure to physician practice environments and integrated team‑based care models.

· Develop foundational understanding of patient flow, care coordination, and quality‑driven clinical practice.

Public Health and Health Systems Exposure

· Support projects related to population health, care delivery improvement, or preventive health initiatives.

· Gain exposure to how public health principles are applied within an integrated delivery system.

· Assist with data review, research support, or operational analysis as appropriate.

· Observe the business and administrative functions that support clinical care, including care coordination, access, quality, and performance improvement efforts.

Professional Development

· Participate in structured mentorship and informal learning opportunities with clinical and operational leaders.

· Develop professional skills in healthcare communication, systems thinking, and health policy awareness.

· Attend meetings, briefings, or educational sessions relevant to clinical operations and health system management.

Minimum Requirements:

· Enrolled in an accredited college or university and completing a Masters or Bachelors degree requiring an internship

· Completion of undergraduate junior or senior year

· GPA of 3.0 or higher

· Enrolled in graduate program related to health care

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
