Position Overview
The Interior Designer will work directly with clients to bring their vision to life, managing projects from concept through completion. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical knowledge, and project coordination, along with the ability to drive revenue through design solutions and product sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with clients to understand design goals, style preferences, and budget parameters
- Develop customized design concepts, including furniture, fabric, and window treatment solutions
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and workrooms to ensure seamless project implementation
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and make design adjustments as needed
- Provide accurate measurements and estimates for drapery, upholstery, and custom work
- Stay current on design trends, materials, and product innovations
- Assist clients with lighting selections and apply color theory to enhance overall design outcomes
- Drive sales through consultative design recommendations and product knowledge
Qualifications
- Prior experience in interior design and home furnishings required
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of measuring and estimating for custom drapery and reupholstery
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Familiarity with design-related contracts and project documentation is a plus
- Experience with Hunter Douglas products is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating functional, beautiful spaces
