This role operates within a collaborative design center connected to a high-volume fabric showroom, offering custom upholstery, drapery solutions, and full-service interior design to a diverse client base.

Position Overview

The Interior Designer will work directly with clients to bring their vision to life, managing projects from concept through completion. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical knowledge, and project coordination, along with the ability to drive revenue through design solutions and product sales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with clients to understand design goals, style preferences, and budget parameters
  • Develop customized design concepts, including furniture, fabric, and window treatment solutions
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and workrooms to ensure seamless project implementation
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and make design adjustments as needed
  • Provide accurate measurements and estimates for drapery, upholstery, and custom work
  • Stay current on design trends, materials, and product innovations
  • Assist clients with lighting selections and apply color theory to enhance overall design outcomes
  • Drive sales through consultative design recommendations and product knowledge

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in interior design and home furnishings required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of measuring and estimating for custom drapery and reupholstery
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Familiarity with design-related contracts and project documentation is a plus
  • Experience with Hunter Douglas products is highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating functional, beautiful spaces
