Title: Intellectual Property Paralegal

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)


Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support attorneys in complex patent litigation and related IP matters. This role involves managing cases through all phases of litigation, including appellate work, with strong preference for Federal Circuit and ITC experience. You will work closely with legal teams to ensure efficient case handling and high-quality client support.


Key Responsibilities:

Case Management:

  • Manage patent litigation matters from filing through trial and appeal
  • Maintain case files, deadlines, and litigation calendars
  • Coordinate with clients, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with tracking case budgets

Discovery & E-Discovery:

  • Support document review, production, and discovery responses
  • Use e-discovery platforms to manage large datasets
  • Maintain organized electronic case databases

Legal Research & Drafting:

  • Conduct research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, Docket Navigator, and USPTO resources
  • Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, and PTAB filings
  • Perform cite-checking, Bluebooking, and tables of authority

Trial & IP Support:

  • Prepare trial materials, exhibits, witness lists, and deposition binders
  • Provide courtroom and trial support, including exhibit and tech management
  • Assist with PTAB filings and patent database research


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate preferred
  • 4+ years of patent litigation experience (district court + Federal Circuit required; ITC strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of federal court procedures and e-filing systems (CM/ECF, PACER, USPTO)
  • Experience with patent law terminology, PTAB practice, and legal cite-checking


Work Requirements:

  • Regular full-time availability (37.5 hours/week) with flexibility for workload demands
  • Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on case needs
  • Occasional travel may be required
