Intake Coordinator

As an Intake Coordinator, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
- Acts as a contact telephone liaison person interfacing with referral sources, outside agencies, health professionals and payer sources.
- Receives and coordinates incoming calls, providing patients/clients and referral sources with basic information to assist in accessing appropriate services.
- Complete intake screening including obtaining, documenting and analyzing clinical and payer information to provide adequate information to Administrator to make preliminary admission decisions.
- Receives referrals. Prepares reports and responses to inquiries. Provides both telephonic and written contact and system data entry for customers seeking care/services.
- Accurately collects and enters customer information into the management information system.
A few must-haves for Insurance Verification Specialist:
- Previous Health Care intake experience preferred.
- Prefer one (1) year of relevant experience in medical services or clinical environment with knowledge of medical terminology.
- Medical terminology.
- Quality-minded individuals.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment and focus on details.
- Excellent phone and computer skills.
- Perfect candidate is someone that has experience in obtaining pre-authorizations for medical services and/or procedures and has knowledge of medical terminology.
