About the Opportunity
A well-established regional law firm in Kansas City is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing litigation team. With a steady volume of claims across personal injury, professional liability, and general liability matters, the firm offers a strong pipeline of work and immediate responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Defend insurers and insured clients in a range of litigation matters, including personal injury and general liability claims
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, and trial prep
- Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and assist at trial
- Draft motions and legal briefs
- Maintain regular communication with clients and insurance carriers
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school and active Missouri bar admission (or ability to waive in)
- 2–7 years of litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred but not essential)
- Strong writing and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Experience handling depositions and court appearances is a plus
