A well-established law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join its expanding Chicago litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for attorneys with strong litigation experience who enjoy managing cases from inception through resolution while working directly with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and national accounts.
The successful candidate will handle a diverse portfolio of insurance defense and personal injury defense matters, including liability claims, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. This position offers substantial courtroom exposure, client interaction, and opportunities for long-term professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a busy caseload involving insurance defense and personal injury defense matters.
• Represent insurance carriers, businesses, and insured clients in litigation proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda on complex litigation issues.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Argue motions and attend court hearings on behalf of clients.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial proceedings when necessary.
• Handle day-to-day case management responsibilities from intake through resolution.
• Oversee national client accounts and maintain strong client relationships.
• Coordinate with paralegals, legal assistants, experts, and litigation support personnel.
• Develop litigation strategies designed to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Qualifications
• 3–7 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Strong background in insurance defense, personal injury defense, or civil litigation.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
• Familiarity with Illinois court rules, procedures, and litigation practices.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Strong organizational and case management skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience conducting depositions and handling motion practice.
